Aloha to everyone!

My name is Hoakalei Dawson. I am a Native Hawaiian woman, born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of O’ahu with my parents (Chelsey and Dustin) and three siblings (E’onipono, British, and Ryse). I am graduating from American University in the Spring of 2018 with a Major in Film and Media, minoring in Law and Society.

 

I have been an American University Volleyball Player competing at the Division I level, for the past 4 years. In 2015, I was awarded the Libero of the Year for the Patriot League and Second-team All-Patriot League selection.

Off the court, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially listening to the Kupuna (elders) talk and share stories of their past and the past of our ancestors. I love to create and collaborate with friends and strangers. Surfing, hiking, eating, and sleeping I also love and get a lot of my inspiration for projects. Overall, my intention and purpose here is to live and share Aloha!
