ALLEN NORTHERN
Hailing from West Philadelphia, PA, Allan Northern started developing shorts in the living room of his rowhome using a Panasonic mini-DV camcorder. As a young man, he utilized all resources at his disposal, to add content to his series, Allan’s Short Adventures. Birthday parties and play dates quickly became film shoots. By orchestrating various production processes, his love for filmmaking drew him to acting. Then he started training at the oldest theatre in America, Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. After years of basic acting technique and a yearning to expand his horizons, he discovered The Actors Center. He trained here for several years and began auditioning for various short films, commercials, and theatrical productions with the help of his manager Rodney Robb. When he was just 14 years old, he booked a national Dicks Sporting Goods commercial with football player Darrell Revis.
Throughout his high school career, he continued developing many film concepts until he completed his first labor intensive short called Shelter. Despite the all-nighters and the two-hundred-and-twenty documented labor hours devoted to its completion, this little project solidified his passion for filmmaking.
In 2016, he graduated with a Film and Media Arts and Business Administration double major. Allan Northern dedicates every single day to fine tuning his craft as a filmmaker. He now serves as an Audio/Visual Technician for American University and Head Videographer for The Phillips Collection. He’s currently working on re-writing two of his feature length screenplays and promoting his first mini-series, The Brotherhood.
