QUEEN ALFORD
Queen Alford is a native of Decatur Georgia, and a graduate student studying Communications at American University, where she is scheduled to graduate in December of 2019. Prior to attending American University, Queen Alford was a member of the Women’s Basketball team at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She served on the board of the Young Democrats for outreach and diversity and was also an intern for several local campaigns. Queen is currently in the process of establishing a non-profit organization aimed to educate marginalized communities on mental health literacy. Queen is passionate about the field of entertainment, and enjoys the art of storytelling. She will either pursue a career in politics, or in editing and producing; in hopes of being a voice for those who are underrepresented. Currently, Queen serves in the office of Representative Chuck Schumer, where she has been given the opportunity to use her own voice and story, to empower others.
