MELANY ROCHESTER
Melany Rochester is a multimedia storyteller passionate about film and television production who will receive her BA from American University in December 2019, with a major in Film and Media Arts and a minor in Business & Entertainment. Melany strives to tells creative, innovative stories that create meaningful dialogue and inspire audiences. She is currently interning at NBC4 and leading the campus television station as the General Manager. Last semester, she served as Director of Photography for a short film, Petra, that was shot on 16mm in Prague, Czech Republic and won Honorable Mention at the District Cinema Film Festival. She is energized and thrives on set, but also love the creativity and problem solving involved in development and network production. Outside of film and television production, Melany is heavily involved in promotional, digital short-form content. About a year ago, she traveled from Madrid to Amsterdam in seven days using only Red Bull as currency. Throughout the adventure, she created digital video content with her team that was posted to several social accounts, including Red Bull TV.
